As September is fast approaching, teachers will be preparing for the return to the classroom.

Schools have a responsibility to protect the health, well-being, and safety of all children under their care.

Whether you work with children in a nursery setting or teach in a school, paediatric first aid knowledge is essential in providing you with confidence in responding to an emergency situation if one were to arise.

Children are generally more prone to accidents than adults. It is necessary for teachers to have some first aid knowledge.

Anaphylactic shock, also known as anaphylaxis, is a severe and life-threatening reaction to a trigger. Anaphylaxis is the result of the immune system overreacting to a trigger. Common triggers are allergic reactions to some foods such as nuts, milk, shellfish and eggs as well as medicines and insect stings.
