Can you guarantee that you will provide high quality training?
Since 2003 our goal has been to provide high quality, fun and engaging courses so that our learners leave us feeling confident and ready to take action. As one of the leading first aid training providers in the UK we believe that we excel at what we do, but don’t just take our word for it! Find out the thoughts of some of our key clients.
Are your courses accredited?
The majority of our courses on accredited by TQUK an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation. (Accredited courses are indicated with TQUK at the start of their course title and QCF or RQF at the end).
Are your trainers fully qualified for the role?
Our trainers each have a teaching qualification at a minimum of level 3 in Education and Training. They also have occupational knowledge as well as competence of the subject matter in their field. Our trainers are all DBS checked- formally known as CRB.
Can you accommodate inset days with multiple trainers?
Yes! With over 200 trainers all over the country, we are able to provide multiple sessions at one venue (your school) to accommodate everyone. In fact inset days are some of our busiest training days!
Do you sell first aid kit supplies?
Yes and we also stock defibrillators and other accessories too! To purchase your supplies visit defibshop.co.uk
What covid measures are in place for courses?
All learners are provided with a face shield to safely demonstrate CPR.
Training Courses
Can anyone complete the training?
Yes. However when selecting members of staff to complete a first aid training course you should consider the following: are they physically able to cope with all emergency situations? Are they a reliable staff member who could abandon their normal duties to deal with an emergency? Do they have adequate communication skills? These are all essential qualities they must possess to fulfil the role of an effective first aider. Please also note that to receive a full qualification, learners must be over 16 years old.
How many people can be trained at one time?
On our first aid training courses, a maximum of 12 learners can be taught. For the other courses we offer, the number of learners varies, however you can check by visiting the relevant course page.
Should you have a larger group which requires training, we can send more than one trainer to ensure all learners are taught at the same time. This is particularly helpful should you choose to book your training on an inset day.
How long do the courses take?
Duration can vary with each course from 3 hours to 5 days depending on what qualification you are working towards. You can find the duration of each training session on their individual course pages.
Training on your premises
Can you deliver training on our premises?
With over 200 trainers dotted around the UK we can come to you! We will provide training courses at any venue of your choice making the process a lot easier and incredibly efficient!
How big does the training space need to be?
The room needs to be large enough to seat 12 learners comfortably and for more practical sessions there needs to be enough space to carry out demonstrations and to practice first aid on resuscitation dolls.
Do we need to supply any equipment for the session?
The room should have 1 table and chair for the trainer, seating for the candidates set up in a horse shoe shape (no tables are needed for learners). If available it would also be handy to have a flip chart or LCD projector with a white screen or alternatively a blank white wall for slide shows.
Do we need to supply refreshments?
It is not compulsory for you to provide lunches but we ask that you to let us know beforehand so that we can inform our trainer. Sometimes the venue of your choosing will provide refreshments, but if not we would recommend water to be provided, as a minimum.
Are there any other requirements I should be aware of?
We advise that all learners should wear casual clothing; ideally something they feel comfortable moving about in during exercises that involve participation.
Qualifications
How are the learners assessed?
All first aid courses are continuously assessed throughout the course using an assessment record. Some of our courses are assessed in other ways such as an exam at the end of the course. Visit the course page for further details.
Do learners get a certificate/ qualification on completion of training?
Every candidate that attends a session and passes the course will receive a certificate. If candidates pass one of our accredited courses they will also receive a qualification that lasts for up to 3 years. (Accredited courses are indicated with TQUK at the start of their course title).
Can I print my certificate?
Yes you can! Printing your certificate is just one of the benefits you'll have access to with the use of our online management suite, a complimentary feature when you choose imperative training.
